Hau’oli La Hanau, sweet Ruby! We had so much fun celebrating our precious girl this past Saturday, alongside close friends + family + our dear maui neighbors. It felt like a long time coming, as we’ve missed having little parties with friends during the pandemic. I’m so thankful for our community, the people who love on us + show us Christ in their caring + generous hearts. Also, if you’re looking for a giant inflatable water slide, I highly recommend Da Bounce Party Rentals. They are awesome!! Their 15-foot water slide was definitely a hit at our party. Ruby kept screaming, “This the best day EVER!” and it brought me so much joy to see the kids enjoying themselves so much. Playing. Being Kids. Together.
We wrapped up Ruby’s birthday weekend by visiting my Dad at the family farm. We brought fresh malasadas + my dad poured hot coffee while we laughed over what a fun day Saturday had been! After donuts, Ken and I took the kids on a long, leisurely hike up the valley at our family’s property, along the stream and beside a scenic cliff face, fishing for crawdads + identifying local plants with the kids. When they got too tired to hike further, we headed home with the kids, our car filled with fresh coconuts + avocados + taro plantings from my Aunty. I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter way to welcome in my daughter’s 6th birthday!
