My Stitch Fix Review + $50 Stitch Fix Credit

Here’s the $50 Stitch Fix Code: click here.

It’s Tuesday and I’m listening to the neighbors above me mowing their yard ever so deliberately during my children’s nap time (kidding, I’m sure they don’t know it’s nap time…right?!) I’m a bit nervous that my youngest will wake up, and also holding any attempts at nap time loosely as I think she’s in that awkward stage of outgrowing afternoon naps. I’m sad that my baby girl isn’t going to be a baby for much longer.

Ok, back to what this blog post is really about: I wanted to share my honest review of Stitch Fix! I’m a total subscription newbie when it comes to clothing. Who knew that other people I’ve never met were so interested in styling me? Also, that they do this for almost no cost (it seems like) since the $20 styling fee is applied toward any clothing you purchase?

According to Stitch Fix’s website, “It’s our mission to change the way people find clothes they love by combining technology with the personal touch of seasoned style experts. The Stitch Fix experience is not merely curated—it’s truly personalized to you. We’re here to help you save time, look great and evolve your personal style over time.”

The process is simple + relatively straightforward. Stitch Fix has clothes for Women, Men + Kids! You sign up for an account, you answer questions about your personal style, you even take fun style quizzes (if you have time) and of course, enter your credit card information so it’s on file if you decide to keep any of the 5 clothing and/or accessory items (including shoes, jewelry, etc) they send you. Then, you try it all on at home once you receive your box in the mail! Whatever you decide to keep, you pay for. And if you keep everything, they give you a 25% discount off the ticketed prices. Whatever you don’t like, you send back with the prepaid shipping label envelope that comes in your box. (Important to note: You have to do this within 3 days of receiving your box, OK?) Easy peasy. Maybe too easy?

So, as I considered Stitch Fix’s business model + mission recently and after hearing positive reviews from my dear cousin Kristina and my neighbor Dani (who sent me pics of her wearing all her new cute clothes), I decided to take the plunge and see what all the hype is about! Also, today’s prices sounded a bit more reasonably priced than it was some six years ago when I first heard about Stitch Fix. Yep, I signed up for my first Stitch Fix box!

My review condensed: I like it! It was really fun to get a box of clothes in the mail that I normally wouldn’t pick out for myself. Pretty much all brands I’ve never heard of + decided to google to make sure that I was being charged a fair price. That being said, I did reply to my stylist with lots of notes + ideas for future “style fixes” for me, including the fact that I really hate paisley (personally) and dislike synthetic fabrics (they get really itchy on my skin) and how I don’t think I will ever wear Kelly green because it just doesn’t match my skin tone. The prices were mostly fair although I could see some of these items being sold for much less at Ross or TJ Maxx if you can find them there. I did LOVE the jeans my stylist sent. Bravo to her for that key item! The one thing I actually kept!! 😉 They hug me in all the right places and make me feel extra-super-confident in my mom body. My husband really liked the jeans! So, even at $78 I bought the jeans. I did try to price match them at first because it felt like too much, and then realized that this brand of jeans is normally around $98 at Nordstrom and online. That helped me feel better about this investment.

Thank you Stitch Fix for broadening my horizon on clothing brands! I think I’ll try a few more “style fixes” from them in the coming months as a nice alternative to online shopping + shopping in store. Click here if you’d like a $50 Stitch Fix Credit – the code only lasts 24 hours so sign up fast + get shopping!
